Keeping Chickens Entertained in Winter

Long, cold days can leave your flock bored. This week, I'm trying something new—Topic of the Week—where I ask a question and we share ideas!

I let them chase our large tortoise around a bit

I feed them sprouted seeds.

I hang up a cauliflower crown in the run. When you cut the white part of the cauliflower out leaving the stem & leaves in one piece, you can push a crochet hook through the stem. Use this to pull some string through, then tie up the cauliflower in the run. Keep the loop in the string as small as possible so that it doesn't become an entrapment hazard after they've devoured the cauliflower.
