temperature fluctuating in incubator. why?

hi,

i dont know if anybody has any ideas why the temperature in my brinsea octagon 10 is going up and down by 3/4 degree? i had got the temperature stable at 38.5 (still air) but its dropping down to 38 and also going up to 38.8 on other days. i have not opened it and the room has the windows closed and no radiators on. for the first few days it was stable but now it is moving daily. any ideas? and also will it affect hatching?! i usually use broody hens and only rarely get out the incy!

Hmmm... You know the normal triggers georgina. Windows, (Direct sunlight), draughts, room temp changes 05 ... Otherwise I suspect the thermostat is dicky. 09

think it must be the weather and a not to modern incubator then. shame it doesnt stay stable or we would probably get better results. do you know of any other small incubators that stay more stable??

The Suro20 I got from Foxy was rock solid on the temp ... all the way through. The other two incys I tried didn't though. They probably do a smaller Suro (?)
