Hello,

This spring my group of around seven ducks started breeding massively and while we did try to collect the eggs before they hatched, those wily ducks found some good hiding places! So now I have around thirty adult ducks in my fairly large garden and they are making too much noise. They look like a Rouen Clairs cross but I can't be sure.

They are in desperate need of a new home and if I cannot find one, I'm afraid I may have to do away with some.

I've learned to be more cautious from this experience and will try not to let it happen again as it's not fair to the ducks.

I live near Canterbury, Kent (England) so if anyone in the area is interested please leave a message and I'll give you a number to call.

Here are some pictures: (The white ducks I'd like to keep but any others are pretty much up for grabs)

Hi Bwark and welcome to the Forum, for you and your large family!
The ducks look lovely, but I see what you mean about the numbers. I hope people on here will be able to help you, but for more publicity you might like also to register with Practical Poultry Forum, if you haven't already done so. It has a waterfowl section as well as Free to Good Home.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on. I'm going to move your post to the Waterfowl section of the forum, so I hope you will get more replies there.

Thank you Marigold, I didn't see the waterfowl section of this forum! I registered with practical poultry but am still waiting for my account to be verified, when it is I'll put a post up on there. I'll make sure to let you know what happens and thank you again for your kind words.

Good news! I have found a home for them. They are going to live on a private shooting lake with food provided. Wild ducks do come to live on it in late spring/early summer but I'm not too worried about that. As long as they don't fly they won't be shot but if they are it's no big deal. Thank you for the help and advice.
