Hi everyone, last time I was having problems with an overly attentive male, now I've got rid of him and the girls have given up laying. Nothing for 3 days...Could they be pining? They didn't much enjoy having him around but what else could it be? They now have extra room,no unwarrented attacks and a sand pit!! Quailey heaven I would have thought!!? HELP...or they go in the pot! P.S Katy-May stick with the gay boys :) :D

Possibly just having a little celebratory holiday break?
Any alteration to routine or flock membership is potentially disruptive to any kind of poultry, and in females this often manifests as temporary suspension of laying. Give them time, I'm sure they will come back into lay soon. Make sure they have a high-protein diet with enough calcium to promote good laying as well.

cheers Marigold, was hoping that might be the case. will let you know. oh by the way,the male was re-homed with a friend with a thing for stray pets .feathered, furred or otherwise.I'm sure he'll be happy, fat and most deffinatley looked after with the rest of her menagerie
