Spring

Nice set-up - there. What breed of chickens are they? Looks very different to the icicle picture - bet you can't wait for it to look like that again!

They look like naked necks,we call the transylvanian naked necks over here, available as large fowl or bantam.

We got another 4 inches of snow today and more is supposed to come in Thursday along with bone chilling temps too.

These birds do have a naked neck but they are very close to a Madagascar Game and I think that I can refine them with some work. The main difference is the lack of wattles and having a dewlap instead, they should have an upright stance and be more leggy but not much here are some good shots of them so you can see the difference.

my lavender pekins havent laid for months but my light sussex black rock and bluebells have never stopped how lucky is that

Actually this was only the second time these birds had been handled. A couple of days pryor to the pics the wife and I drove a 300 mile round trip to get them. The guy we bought them from had quite a time catching them and one of the hens bit the wife hard enough to leave bruises. But they did tame down nicely.

Today Southern Oklahoma got up to 8 inches of snow and it snowed heavily in Northern Texas too with Dallas/Fort Worth getting up to 8 inches too.

I hear that Canada is having snow flown in by helicopter for the Olympic games, crazy weather!!
