hahahahahhaa i had to laugh when i got home this afternoon and went out to do the girls and some guy was over there looking for a plot which i didnt know about and being site rep i am neant to be told whos coming over so they can meet me and i can show them around the site etc but anyway this guy was told he can enter the site himself if the gates were unlocked so he went round checked out all the plots but i saw him and showed him a few other plots but he wanted one that was already pretty clear so i said the plot by the chicken run was pretty good and omgggggggggggggggg he said no those birds have done my head in i dont like them and i've only stood by them for a few mintues they are to noisy and i thought well then mate dont enter my site then if you cant stand the noise of the chickens :o :o ohh i could of said a few rude words but i dont think he realised they were my girls , just hope he doesnt say anything to the council as i have the cockeral still although the woman who runs the sites dosent mind him being there its her bosses i have to worry about this guy could mean trouble for me i am praying he dont take a plot on .he came over all dressed in a posh suit the whole works i dont like him as he dont like my girls   but tough if he wants a plot as every site around my area has at least 3 lots of chickens on .

Don't worry too much about 'mr suit'. In my experience as allotment committee member, they tend to want the allotment for fashionable reasons and he'll be gone far before you. If he wants peace and quiet, put him in a corner plot with loads of weeds and let him moan about the noise of the bees. ;)
xxx

even better if the plot next to the bee hives was empty i'd stick him there   i cant see him coming on actully he was so stuck up his own { i'll be polite } well i hope he dont come on our site .

Hi Karminski.
Sounds as though you need to do some "missionary work". How could anyone not like chickens? :-)19

every one i have told so far dont want him on the site   i have a feeling he wont take a plot but if he did then he wont speak to anyone which suits me .

Perhaps he is just shy? If a bit tactless? I'm sure he didn't mean it personally about your chickens, since he didn't even know they were yours.
Taking on a plot for the first time is a bit overwhelming, especially if perhaps a person is new to growing veggies and is feeling unsure and uncertain of himself in a new environment. Coming into a 'club' like the one on an allotment site can be daunting at first, and sometimes newcomers can appear a bit brash and offhand, but may turn out OK once they settle in. Maybe he came straight from work, and didn't have time to adapt to the gardening dress code?
I would just encourage him to take the furthest plot, and offer him some eggs if he reappears. He will soon be eating out of your hand and wanting to find out how to keep some chickens of his own......

umm maybe but my gut instinct says different :-)05 i can normally read people better then a book which is probably why i have so many animals

You're not on your own there Karminski. We can read people too well and prefer to be on our own with our livestock. Problem is people eventually know that and try to create a reason why we are the issue and not them. Primarily why we left England, plus crime and cost and weather.

thats something i would adore to do but unless i win the lottery it aint going to happen but never mind , i'll stick to the animals ;) umm why cant some people just unerstand us animal lovers the mind boggles

There is more to it than that - I sometimes take an instant dislike to someone as soon as I see them and without having spoken to them. I've learnt to trust that "instinct" but actually it is the brain taking in masses of information such as body language, general posture, facial expression etc etc without you being award of it. That's all matched to a previous experience and so I get the "I don't like you" thought. I have not been proved wrong yet, although sometimes it can take a few months for the persons "bad" characteristics to become apparent. If I ever got that feeling when we running our own business, even OH who thinks I "cower before his intelligence" (hah!) would take note of it.

Here's hoping whatever happens he doesn't cause problems Karminski.

i hope he doesnt ethier but i dont know if he will have a plot unless i see him working one as the council are not that good at letting us site reps know that someone has taken on a plot .
