yesterday one of my hens was on the shed floor not moving, i took her in the house to check her, her crop was hard so i shringed some prebiotic powder with water down her throut, thinging it to be conpacted croop. I left her overnight in the utility {i have underfloor heating, she will not want to go back out side} in the morning she was better, but still had a hard croop, so shringed some more in her, i can move the corn about in her throut {carnt spell}, she hasnt eaten any thing, but still has a full croop, but she is fine in herself, any ideas?

Hi
Have sent you a PM, I see you are in Cheshire also, if hen no better tomorrow and you are not to far from me, I'll take a look at your sick hen for you.

Regards

So sorry your hen is sick Ameeyal,hope she is better soon.

She is back to normal this morning, she had flown over my stable door in the utility, in to the kitchen and was making a mess :shock: her crop is still not normal, so i have massaged it to break it up, then put her back out side, it was funny really as i just shut the back door on her thinking she would go and fly over the fence to the other chickens in the field, i had some breakfast and when i went back out side she was still out side the back door :lol: she wants to be a house chicken, {message to Lydia i bet all your chickens are keeping warm by the fire arent they ;) }

LOL,you're right there Ameeyl.They were in all day 2 days ago,and when I put them to bed in their hen houses it took me nearly 2 hours to clean the mess up.
So I decided to be tough and not let them in......one does want to be a house chicken and goes to sleep by the radiator,nice and warm.
