Thanks for the offer of help Karminski, fortunately OH will help with any complicated/heavy stuff. I think I'm going to have to replace the roof Chris. I was going to strip off the thin ply, but that is much easier said than done. The space between the two sheets is packed out with all sorts og bits of timber, some still with the bark on - redmites paradise although I didn't see any on the small section I managed to strip. I don't really wan to use felt but I can't find the screw fixings Marigold mentioned and the current Wickes guide uses the standard Onduline nails. I may just make a boarded roof and cover it with Onduline - making up the two side pieces complete with Onduline and then fixing them on with a ridge piece.
It's really frustrating - the time it's taking fiddling about with this I could have two thirds built the Poultry Palace.
