Scaley Leg disaster

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to liven up my back garden for my chooks and wanted to put some different plants and bushes in for them to hide behind as it has got run down due to ill health. I wanted to put some fern plants in but am worried it could be poisonous, could anyone help please.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry should have added that my chooks have had scaley leg and not treated quickly due to my ill health, but after treatment and are now doing well with fresh scales growing .

They don't eat the poisonous stuff unless that's all there is. Ours are eating ivy at the moment and having very green poos -it's supposed to be poisonous but no-one looks ill yet. Nothing else in the runs to eat though! Heard rhubarb leaves were highly poisonous but then heard someones hens had eaten loads without issues. I think if they have enough pellets and corn they would only eat a relatively tiny amount anyway, so if the concentrations are low there isn't an issue. Never heard of a problem with ferns -only ivy, poison ivy berries and rhubarb leaves.

thanks for that, i think i will put the fern somewhere else that they cannot get too.
