So after a couple of weeks of planning and spending hours in the garden til late at night putting the run together it finally paid off and finally on Monday I became a proud new mum to my first ever chickens, and I have to say I'm chuffed to bits with them. They've settled in so well and have been so entertaining. Obviously they're all girls deserving special names so they're all named after goddesses and here they all are:

Thanks guys. Its the third morning they laid their second thank-you yesterday and I'm having great fun watching them; I gave them two halved broccoli stems yesterday and it was like watching a rugby game they were running with it in their beak, chasing each other, grabbing it from each other, dropping it, pecking it, picking up and running again etc lol. But generally, they're so calm, a loud military helicopter flew over yesterday, I thought they'd scream and alert the neighbors to their presence for sure, but nothing, not a peep still. They're learning fast, two of them managed to put themselves to bed last night, so perhaps tonight they'll all get it. I had no idea what great pets they were and so friendly, glad we've done it, don't why we didn't do it sooner!
