When a rooster treads a pullet, is the next egg she lays likely to be fertile? Can someone answer this for me, please? She is a hybrid, looks as if she might be Vorwerk/buff Sussex, and he is an overkeen and very cheeky blue Pekin. Many thanks, VB.

hi

if they mate and she lays straight away then it wont be i think they need to do it 24- 26 hours before she lays the next egg :) but if hes a young man then ill say u will have to wait afew weeks before u can be certain that they are all fertile give him chance to get the hang of it lol

hope that help :)
