Promoting the BHWT has got to be a good thing. They've had to stop rehoming for the duration of the pandemic, which will give people time to prepare for their live of chicken keeping too.
 
I think the business of going and collecting hens from BWHT is pretty low risk and people are working from home more (especially those with the garden for it.) As good a time as any for rescuing 'ex-batts.' That madness of getting hens because the eggs are running out thing seems to have blown over and those people weren't rescuing.
Did raise an eyebrow to the idea of keeping them on a balcony! I'm sure BWHT didn't recommend that. And no mention of them wrecking/eating everything and pooing for England but that is always part of the surprise!
 
I was wondering how big their balconies must be, to have room for a coop, a run & a compost heap of poo! Good fox proofing though, but not great if the hens take "flight" in the wrong direction...
