my birds are so lucky i dont cull or else they would all be dead by now , i am still having major probs with them going to bed the fighting and attacking is going beyond a joke if one starts another one follows and so on , so i cant really seperate the main culprit as i am not quite sure who it is they are really making me angry . .
so tonight i have now put the 2 oddsod birds in with the old ex batts , the 3 faverolles are now back in the wooden coop as they seem to prefer that along with my 2 remaining chicks and thier mum whos getting bullied by the other pekins and my 2 little dutch millifluers who really would perfer to sleep outside but i wont risk that each night and left he other remaining pekins to fight it out between themsleves.apart from giving each bird its own house each night or leaving them to just sleep were they want as i know i can trust the strength of my run etc but dont really want to risk it night after night i dont know what esle to do .

I may get shouted down for saying this but if your run is secure then let them sleep where they want I have a friend who got some birds that have never slept inside the house even In the snow they were up in the tree it might end up beig that they put themselves in the house they feel happiest In

We have been having problems with the young TNN's fighting at night over who is going on which perch next to who. Today we removed one bully hen who was stopping two others eating and it was quieter, but the cockerel seems to make nearly as much fuss.

Kellysalmon has a good point Karlooben. Is your run secure enough to leave them to sort themselves out or have you got just one bully as well?

My run is secure as I have left out during the summer but it's the one night were it could all go wrong but maybe it is worth trying, I don't think I have just one bully as such it's hard to work out when they all kick of.

I have two pekins who squabble and fight every night over the perches. I have added more yet still they have to squabble. It sounds terrible from out side the coop, but after a few minutes they all settle down. Strangely these two pekins are always together, in the run by day and once perched, side by side all night? I believe in a former life they were a married couple :-)10

If you are worried about them being out they wil perch up high however if you are still worried try waiting till it's dark then put them to bed then set what happens
Personally I would still make sure nothing can get into the run then leave them to set themselves out I live in the middle of no where mine were out all summer with foxes and other furries around they were all ok I have a large run with a roof and a pea shingle floor

i really want to leave them out but i am just paranoid that it will all go wrong but yet i do trust the strength of my run as a good few times now i have gone out at 5.30 am and seen the fox very close by so surely if they wanted in they would try but they havent .i dont really like staying out on the site when its dark for some reason i found it more scaring in the evening then what i do in the morning weird i know maybe cause theres more people around in the early evenings and not in the mornings.
going to add higher perches over the next few days and see what happens then.

Make sure they can't climb over or dig under I would try and put old paving slabs on the outside add nice high perches you can try electric fencing that works well and you can buy fox repellant but I have ever tried that failing that get a big dog they will think twice then we had a fox get into the garden while my dobby was out in the garden almost didn't get out again

kelly my birds are kept on the alloments behind my house and believe me the runs are secure , 1 has been up for 8 yrs now or 9 cant remember lols but thats pretty much how long i have been on this site for and nothing hasnt got in yet the new roofed run has been up for most of this year as i was offered roofing sheets for free which enabled me to build a 12 by 12ft run for the pekins so they could get out the mud but then i decided to extend that by 18ft by 10ft lols so all birds are in those runs both have slabs { pavement slabs } around them etc etc the worse i have ever had is a foxes poo package left outside and that happened not long after i built the first run nothing has ever got in or out so yeh i klnpow my runs are secure its just that one night it may happen but tonight wasnt as bad as some birds are now learning to go into the other wooden coop so maybe i have found a solution although i dont know what i am going to do with lemmy as tonight she got very very evil with mummy pekin and reallly tore into her that i had to run into the run and chase her of this pekin oh was really having feathers ripped out lemmy had her pinned down on the floor .at the beginning of the summer i went out at about 5.30 am and saw eyes shining in my head torch light i thought it was the tomcat but it wasnt it was a fox sitting between my 2 runs yes it freaked me but nothing came of it .
