Hi all ive been useing an R-com king suro i brought ealy this year and im rather disapointed with its performance, first off had to return it as the heating element was duff, second they dont tell you that the surrounding air temp must be at a constant 20 degrees or the machine struggles to cope and maintain constant internal temp and humidity, and another thing i was told leave newly hatched chicks in incubator for the first 24 hrs dont: leave them just long enough to dry and fluff up then into the brooder. also remove old shells but also check for any liquid in bottom of incubator and remove if you leave it the humidity will be all over the place.question has this happened to any of you ? uncle fox

Bin there ! Firstly, the water pump wouldn't work so went back. Faulty connection which had to be secured. Four very poor hatches later, the machine was on it's way. I may have persevered but I had bought a cabinet incubator by this stage and the machine was redundant. Three power points needed and trailing water tubing was also an irritant as well. I also found the temperature and humidity difficult to adjust.
Going on other feedback I've read, it seems it's a machine you either love or hate !

Been there as well. Faulty water pump so P&T Poultry sent me a duff second hand one. I managed to get the original working -loose connection. Very poor hatch (2 days late with some) so read instructions and in the tiniest print was that the ambient temperature must be above 20 degrees. So surrounded it with boxes to stop draught and added bubble wrap. Some improvement but not enough. At day 18 I moved all the eggs into our old semi-auto incubator, which had given excellent results previously, then started another batch in the Suro. Next time we use it I will construct a cabinet for it to sit in and raise the temperature in that to 25 degrees. Without that controlled environment the Suro is next to useless.

Had two of the things - ditched them as soon as I could as they were useless - never did find the small print re 20C - I live in an old house with no central heating so the temp was seldom above 13 - 15 at that time of the year! I found there were hot spots so the eggs had to be moved around a lot. They are nice looking machines, but only got good hatches when both machines were new. Once they had been running for a couple of months, no end of problems.
