question about ducks

Hello all, First, thank you for letting me join. My question is this. I have had mallards and they were very tame. They loved being held and walked around the yard without a thought of flying away. I than decided to give mandarins a try and they were very flighty and timid. I really want to attempt northern pintails and was curious about what side of the spectrum their temperament is. I am hoping they are more like the mallards but understand if they are not. Any experience or advice is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
