Does anyone have experience of keeping ducks and geese in a netting pen? I have a pen with a "trip wire" electric wire around the outside. My concern is just how fox proof this is, as up to now, we've always been able to put everything to bed before dark. My job has changed and I may not get back til much later. I find that chickens will put themselves away, sometimes the geese will, but not ducks! Thanks.

the netting is the standard electric stuff, so about 3'6" and the trip wire is at 6" or so as I was advised this is the latest thinking on fox proofing i.e the fox can't get close and everything is electrified. I could add another strand on the top as the corners of the net are secured on wooden posts.

I use a combination of electrified poultry netting, plus a system of posts with 9 electrified wires across. We use a pretty serious energiser giving out around 9,000volts on a good day. This is on 24 hours a day, the fox will sense when it is off.

Our netting is excellent quality and is 1.22m high bought from http://shop.electricfencing.co.uk/index.php?m=shop&c=view&id=42:53:58:178:187 A really helpful and knowledgeable company.

Here is a photo I took a few years back...suffice to say he didn't get in!
