Hello Allen,

I have moved your post to the Poultry Equipment forum as this is the only place we allow business advertisers.

Kind Regards,

Tim

No problem Allen, we have sponsors on the site and whilst they are nothing to do with feed additives, if we allowed one, we'd have to allow them all.

I'm sure you understand ;)

All the best,

Tim

Sure, thanks for reminding me instead of deleting. :D

Kind Regards,

Allen

Hello Allen,

I have removed a duplicate post from the Chickens Health forum.

Please do not post messages in more than one place on the site.

Many thanks. Tim.

I'm sorry for that and I'll remember the rules.

All the best,

Allen

Hi Allen ------- Do our chickens need these ? I think people are begining to realise that most 'supplements/additives' are not needed and can be detrimental in many caseS. Could you please explain what Betaine Hydrochloride is and how it acts etc. Ros

Dear Podstable,

thanks for your question.

Betaine Hydrochloride is a kind of nutritional additive of efficiency, high-quality and economic advantage, which is widely used for animal and poultry breeding and aquaculture as well.

1. It can, being an efficient methyl supplier, partly take the place of methionine and choline chloride and lower the cost. The effective value of which is 3 times of that of DL-methionine and 1.8 times that of 50% choline chloride.

2. It serves to promote the metabolism of fat and increase the lean meat rate of animals and poultry, thus improving the quality of meat and lowering the ratio of feed against meat.

3. It helps improve the appetite of animals and makes the food more agreeable to the animals, thus an ideal feed to promote the growth rate.

4. It can, being the buffering substance for the violent changes of osmotic pressure, improve the adaptability of young fish and shrimps under such ecological and environmental changes as coldness, hotness and diseases.

5. It helps, by working together with anti-coccidiosis medicines, maintain the function of intestines.

6. It is also widely used as an important material for medical or chemical.

7. Strength, Noncaking for two years

Dear Podstable,

Are you a animal feed supplier or chicken farm owner??

All the best,

Allen

Thanks for reply Allen---- I am neither of those ! Just interested in what people regard as desirable nitrition in animals and humans , there is just so much stuff sold to people that feel it is ' doing good' at extortionate prices of no benefit. Anything of proven / trialed benefit in feed is of course a welcome addition. I am afraid I just get more suspicious/cynical as I get older! Is there a product name we can look up? How much does it cost ? More details please! I hope you do well with this suplement but I and I suspect others would need to know more before considering any supplements. The proprietary feeds available at present seem to cover birds needs when combined with free ranging. :-)08 Ros

Most of the minerals/vitamins in your original list are already included in the feed hobbyist generally buy, so additional supplements are not necessary in routine feeding of poultry. Poultry feed on a commercial scale is completely different to small scale backyard breeders/keepers with completely different nutritional requirements.
Betaine is not added to layers pellets, as it not really necessary, plus the evidence in inconclusive in terms of gut health and cocci. With regard to feed conversion there may a benefit at increasing "live weight" in broilers at roughly killing age which is around 35days, but not something I can see hobbyists getting involved with as the above is more about reducing costs on a commercial scale (feed v. conversion = profit)
Supplements tend to be used occasionally by hobbyists, to support birds in time of stress, through a hard moult, extremes of weather or as supportive care with a recovering bird. :)

Dear podstable,

Sorry for being late to reply your response, as I have just had dinner. Betaine usually used for the feed of farmed fish, but also for the poultry and livestock feeds. You can goole it. :D .

The clients of our products are the animal feed suppliers and the distributor. Our products for the poultry feed, I suggest Vitamin A D3 E and dicalcium phosphate and trace elements.

The strength of vitamin D3: Distributor of Xinchang Chemical Company; the price we offer you lower than Zhejiang NHU Company Ltd. (Xinchang Chemical Company). This company is really famous and also you can google it for more detail.

We can also pride OEM mineral blends/elements for animal & livestock &poultry feed according to your requests.

Dear podstable, if your friends are feed manufactor or they are engaged in feed additives, , please introduce to me. The price we offer even lower than the manufactor. trust me or you can call the manufactor.

I really like to be your friends, even though my knowledge is not enough for you.

You can also check our my products on the website: www.join3v.com

Really nice to know you, by the way where are you come from? I'm Chinese.

Hi foxy,

Really nice to know you. As you know, China is the world factory. Most of the feed additive companies and the feed manufactors are importing these raw materials from China. We offer them the European standard products at the price that lower than the manufactor. The benefits we make is Export Rebates(TaxRebate).

I'm really honest with you, Hope we can be friends.

All the best,

Allen

Hi Allen,

I have been following this thread with interest.

Whilst it is interesting for us on this forum, do you understand we are mainly hobby chicken keepers? we keep flocks of a few chickens for a few eggs and pets and some people show their chickens - we are the consumers of products that contain your products, maybe some of us have a few hundred chickens but we are not commercial and I would say we all of us buy our feeds via distributors or shops around the UK.

The feed we choose is manufactured by a small number of companies around the UK (your customers?).

Really, I think from a business point of view, you should try approaching these companies as they sound like your real customers rather than us.

Maybe we can help you out by listing the manufacturers we know of?

I can think of a few now, there are probably a couple more..

Fancy Feed Company
Smallholder Feeds
BOCM feeds
Garvo Feeds
Marriages
Heygate Mill

A forum you might want to try is The Poultry Site forum - it has areas where there are people in this sort of industry and might give you some further leads.

I hope this is helpful for you?

Hi Tim,

I'm trying www.thepoultrysite.com, the pig site and the fish site :D ,and also some B2B websites.

Thanks for your help, and I'm gonna contact the companies you mentioned to me.

Best regards,

Allen
