Plastic hen house

Solway may have changed things on the later models, for example they now have external nest boxes. On their large ark the ventilation grilles are directly in line with the perch! All of these people claim to use the coop for their own hens - maybe we're just too pernickety Chris!

I know the Poultry Palace works, all of the hens are trying to crowd into at night - 20 hens in a house with an 8' perch(and it's not because of a problem with the other houses as they lay in them quite happily). So some are sleeping in the nest boxes and others out on what's called the veranda 4 Welsummers, 5 Houdan hens, a Barnevelder, Cream Legbar, 2 Salmon Faverolles, an ex-bat, 6 three month old Houdan chicks, 2 bantams and another I can't remember, one Houdan cockerel and the other sleeps underneath the perch! That's why we need to move the perch in my Solway!

Mind you, I don't blame them as it went down to 5 degrees here last night.

The perches they used are natural branch perches which do fit inside wall to wall.they use this house for there own hens for all there hens with runs and for the ones in enclosures there hens seem very healthy and seem to like there house if you type Durham hen house into you tube you can see video of it tell me what you all think after you see it
