Plastic Coops and Red Mite

Their feet probably sweat in the night Margaid so I suppose that would make the perches slippery. Wood has a grain which gives some degree of grip as well. Our wooden perches have no creosote treatment on them because I worry that it will affect their feet, which are only thin soft skin on the underside as you know.

As I haven't seen it yet I don't know what they are like, but apparently the earlier perches were round. The new ones are rectangular with rounded edges and although slightly rough to touch also felt quite slippery to touch. I didn't know the underside of the foot was thin soft skin - I learn something with every post Chris!

Always surprises egg-buying visitors as well, when they feel the underside of Bottom's big scaley feet! But he's not ticklish.
