Peking ducks, boys have plucked there flight feathers out??

Hi. Is it normal that my 2 boys have both pulled there flight feathers out? There doing it them selves they ain't fighting, it maybe normal alas there only 1 and consequently never seen them do it, there wings are growing back nicely again now but was just worried

This is normal molting, they do this once or twice a year.

I have some of my ducks doing this too, on closer examination they were grooming the old feathers out 17

Don't get me wrong I have seen them pulling there thick warm cheats feathers out but this is first time they have pulled there big flight feathers out, there wing span in about 10 inch now haha,

Perfectly normal at this time of year there are feathers everywhere - my orchard looks like a duvet has been murdered!! :lol:
