At about what age do little Pekin ladies start to lay? I am wondering as Pekin boys seem to crow and tread and ladies of the same age have not yet produced any eggs. Any help please, anyone? - many thanks and regards. They are about 15 weeks old and and look mature size wise.

Very many thanks for the info. Will remember that.
My cream legbar presented me with her first egg today, a truly deep turquoise blue. Well worth the wait, never thought I would see one from her!!!! Regards.

I Went to look at some 15 week old Pekins today at a Rare breed farm, the owner said they would start laying between 20-24 weeks.

I have had so many eggs suddenly in the last few days that I think Bella - the Pekin - must be in lay as well! that makes her very young to lay, all those salad and rocket lunches with these tiny eggs!!!!! they are really great.

Mine was 7 months before she started to lay - just waiting for her to go broody now :D
