Pancake day - the sticky question

Polish Vodka Karminski ! My wife (Polish) introduced me to that shortly after we met. And Vishnoofka (spelling?) mixed 50:50 with cherry syrup. It burns all the way down! Lovely Winter warmer, but one glass is enough.

Well, in times of food shortage and no online Waitrose deliveries, why the hell did they give up on eggs just as the hens were coming back into lay?
What else did they eat instead?

:lol: one of my clients told me to poach and egg in the microwave like that!! i was like... noooooo you have to put it out of the shell and cover it with water or milk. :-)11
 
Karminski I was wondering haw come you have a polish surname.You must have some Polish ancestors for sure.

our surname is appartently part french/german so my sister told me ???but i really dont know would be interestin if it was polish wow, just spoke to mum an dad and they said that my dad has always been told its french/ italain is there anyway i could find out if its polish or not ?
 
It certainly is Polish Karminski. You may originate from French /German border but it is a male Polish name. The 'ski' on the end becomes 'ska' for a female. But that system doesn't work in rest of Europe where the surname is the same for all. My wife is Pietrzykowski -her father's name. She should be Pietrzykowska. He came from Lille in North Eastern France, as did his wife. They both had French Nationality but met in England when her Father served in the Polish Paratroops during WW2. Which is why my wife now has a French passport -they contacted her somehow? Must have tracked her NI number or something because a letter came out of the blue to a house we were renting. Should make our lives in France a little easier, although I'll be the 'foreigner' she's married to !

So how about an internet search 'whateveryournameis -ski' ? You should be able to find the origins from there. The hereditry sites will do it as well -and claim to have found your original family crest ! You're a bit of a 'dark horse' I think Karminski :) :lol:

Well ,so this explain everythink now,no polish roots then for you.i'am surprised anyway that you had chosen this as you nick name-most people english folks)I know can hardly say it propely :lol:
 
it did get me thinking as i have never used my surname for joining sites well not these sort of sites :lol: :lol: and i was like how does he know my name :-)05
