Hi, would welcome everyone's thoughts please !! We have three female indian runners, we purchased them three weeks ago when they were 6 weeks old, at first they were absolutely terrified of us, we've been gradually taming them by sitting with them during the good weather we've had and they are now a lot calmer and more inquisitive. Question is this, at night they are housed in a wooden house, with an attached, totally enclosed wire run which (at night) includes their food and drink. The regime so far has been to let them out into an enclosed area of the garden during the day (which is where we sit with them), they can still retreat into the run, however we've been blocking the door to the house during the day otherwise they just seem to disappear into the house all day. Now the weather has got a bit wetter I've been unblocking the door to the house as I want them to have somewhere to shelter out of the rain if they want. I'm a bit concerned about them constantly disappearing into the house all day though and would like to get them used to being out in the garden all day, should I build a little "outdoor shelter" where they can hide and shelter if required and continue blocking the door, or should I leave the door unblocked ??

Hiya :) Glad you are enjoying them! They will be very very nervous for a while, so leave their door unblocked. They need to gain confidence at their own pace and it may take them a couple of months. Keep doing what you are doing and eventually you will have trouble getting them back in their house!
