Our first Egg.......

I really wasn't expecting an egg today,especially because of the stress yesterday.Then again,ex-batts are bred purely for eggs and meat.
I haven't a clue who laid it :? ,but as Chicky likes to be the first to do anything-I guess it was her :lol: .

I don't actually remember mine - We've always had chickens for as long as I can remember.

I ate it for lunch.....if I'm honest,which I always am,it er didn't taste better than the eggs I usually buy ,but,give it a week or two,and maybe they'll taste better.I do know that it wasn't Chicky that laid it.
After she'd been up for a while this am,she retired to the nest box.I checked at lunch time and she'd laid her egg,was still sitting on it.Different shell colour and shape to the first egg.
I suspect that the first egg was laid by Cheepy,and that was why she was slightly more stressed yesterday.
I was actually hoping that they wouldn't lay for a while,seeing as they're moulting,moving home etc.
I um don't use a lot of eggs LOL
