Mrs G has arrived at Glaslyn, Dylan is at Clywedog, Laddie in Scotland and both Maya and 33 at Rutland and they've already been mating!

Hooray! I’m glad there’s no travel restrictions or vaccination certificates for wild birds, even if it does mean protecting our chickens from bird flu.

And now NCO has returned to join Laddie at Loch of the Lowes. Black 80 one of Mrs G's children with her 1st mate, is back at Threave Castle.

Telyn is back at Cors Dyfi so both she and Mrs G are waiting for their menfolk.

Aran and Idris returned to Glaslyn and Dyfi yesterday. Two of Mrs G's sons have returned to Kielder to breed, and ones mate arrived back today.
Dylan and Seren reunited at Llyn Clywedog, more Glaslyn offspring have arrived back at Roudsea, Foulshaw Moss, and at a nest in Switzerland. We have a Cuckoo back in the garden today

Great to hear they’re flourishing though I had to Google Roudsea and Foulshaw Moss to find where they are.
I’m still hoping to see White Tailed Eagles back here before I shuffle off.
How are Hen Harriers doing in England? Still being persecuted?

We went to Foulshaw Moss once to see the ospreys but the nest was a tiny dot on the horizon. Better for the birds of course. The white-tailed eagles nest on the cliffs below us. We see them occasionally having a flap but I think they are quite lazy birds. But then when you're the size of a barn door I suppose you keep activity to a minimum. When we were still in Yorkshire all the game bird estates were still in full-on persecution - not only of the hen harriers but of anyone who tried to defend them. Bowland Brewery came in for some persecution so they brought out a beer called Hen Harrier.

The answer is still yes Hen-Gen, not only Hen Harriers, but Buzzards, Kestrels and Mountain Hares, rather nasty pic the other day of a man and his 10 year old son with about 50 mountain hares they had shot and about 6 Kestrels hanging up on a post

Maya, at Manton Bay, Rutland, laid her first egg at 11.45 this morning 11 days after she returned.

Sometimes I despair of our species.

That's the trouble, what happens on the estates is another matter entirely.
Saw a photo the other day of an estate burning gorse and bracken, just as the breeding season is getting underway for many creatures, and others are just emerging from hibernation

Allegedly it's done to provide new shoots for the pheasants, grouse and partridges to eat. Not sure I believe that as the gamekeepers already feed them. My take is that it's to destroy the habitat of the very creatures you mention.

Mrs G laid her 1st egg of the season at 17.07 yesterday evening. This morning her tail was stiff and white with frost
Over at Llyn Clywedog Dylan was sitting with a covering of snow all over him yesterday afternoon.

Mrs G has just laid her second egg, 14.24 and I actually saw it live1 Well not the egg coming out but the slight dip of the back and then she stood up!

I feel sick and VERY VERY angry.

After the disturbance caused last year by "I'm a celebrity ... ", this was a new pair nesting.
