Yes, definitely weirder! The monkey in Marigold's clip has a horrible grin on its' face - enough to scare a newly hatched chick to death!
 
That is so odd and funny! Good insulation - nothing like a stick - clump of moss? I could just hear - "That's nice dear! Do you think we need any more though?! (I'll just put it out the way over here)"
 
No I just make model planes/tanks and leave bits everywhere.
The clip where he brings in a mucky old sock is brilliant just for the look on the females face. Don't think she was too keen on the frog either

The youtube stream is brilliant, with 2 hours rewind. I was intrigued to know if ospreys stand up to lay their egg like chickens do but no - she just fluffed up a bit for a few mins while Aran was preening right next to her and there it was. Well done!!!

What a privilege this tech is giving us!

I'm hoping that youtube have given Glaslyn a good deal on the service as a charity. Money well spent whatever but I hope they see the value in providing for free (or near enough) as it should be good all-round.

I believe the stats are 37 known chicks breeding around UK and Europe and 74 grandchildren breeding, quite a legacy. Nearly as legendary as the Lady of the Lowes
 
Poor ospreys are in for a battering tonight but at least there aren't any chicks yet.
 
I'm getting the impression from FB that Mrs G, Aran and eggs weathered the storm safely and it's just a matter of fixing the camera/connection now. The footage of the storm from Dyfi is pretty dramatic!
 
Love a flock of Brambling, especially as the males in your flock are probably in full breeding plumage. Saw two nice flocks in January in Norfolk at well known wintering sites.
Our Swallows arrived back yesterday, very late this year, but there seems to be a distinct lack of them about at the moment, and no House Martins back at usual sites yet. A very smart Honey Buzzard flew over the garden yesterday afternoon en route to somewhere

£70 over the last three years Marigold so less than a TV licence.
 
Amazing footage on Glaslyn live stream - need to rewind 2 hours from now, 8.45 am. 31 dive bombing attacks by an intruder osprey. No wonder Aran has no time to fish! Aran seems to have chased the intruder way up the valley.
 
Amazing footage and scary for all concerned, feathered and human. After being absent all yesterday no doubt still fighting Tegid off, he reappeared this am then vanished again to return at 11.50 with a large trout for Mrs G her first meal since Tuesday which she took to a perch and Aran is incubating eggs. Lets hope he has really scared Tegid off this time. Who needs TV with this drama going on.
 
It seems that part of the problem is that Tegid (the intruder) is looking at the Pont Croesor nest where 5F is. This nest is on private land and is nothing to do with Glaslyn ospreys and they can't do anything about it. It is really too close to Mrs G and Aran and is also on Aran's flight path when he goes fishing. Apparently once the two ospreys realise the other is not a threat then they tolerate each other. However the dive bombing on Thursday does seem to have been an attempt to take over the nest and Mrs G.
