Don't they look lovely, such contented birds, with that extremely handsome cockerel to look after them. The evening light brings out the beauty of the colour in their soft feathers.
More pics please Foxy!

Yes isn't it great to have some fine weather at last so they can be out and about exhibiting normal chicken behaviour, scratching about, sunbathing, wonderful.

Beautiful birds Foxy, a really nice photo of them. They should give my lot some tips on preening, they look immaculate.

Keep coming back to this image, amazingly beautiful chickens in... Well... Is it really.... Sunshine :D
You can smell the grass, feel the warmth and its the perfect reminder of summer
Love it.

Agree, although not seen this until now, they look absolutely wonderful!
i just pictured my poor chooks and how weve had non stop rain so everythings washed out, chickens included!

Thank you, that photo was taken in the late evening summer sunshine..a perfect evening watching the birds scratching around and the cockerel clucking contentedly at his hens :D

We had some sunshine today! My ex-batts weren't sure what to make of it. I wonder if the BHWT do ex-batt sunglasses?

We haven't had much sunshine here, if it's any consolation. The wettest for years and too many trees for much sunshine to get through anyway, which is great in Summer but miserable now.

Drove 150 miles South yesterday to see a friend from Derbyshire who ,in the end, moved before us despite meeting his French wife after we started planning our move. Several degrees warmer, plenty of sunshine and gently rolling green countryside. Chickens and ducks running wild, plenty of streams. A water mill nearby with a now dry pond which used to collect enough water to power the wheel has been derelict for as long as anyone locally can remember. The area looks like a contender for our permanent location.

Definitely sounds as though you need to get away from the Chasse and the traps Chris. Hope you find somewhere.

Sounds idyllic Chris, agree with Margaid, sounds a far nicer area for you and your flock

Lovely chickens. One or two of mine look like faveroles, though there is nothing of the sort in their breeding. And today is the first springlike day we've had. Actually out without a coat! It's just getin toward evening sun. I shall have to take some pictures!

Oh, aren't they gorgeous!! Are they bantam or large-fowl faverolles? Your fencing set up looks good too.
