Not sure if this is a health problem but maybe someone can help.

My Marans has up till now, a beautiful, upright comb, although not laying (can't understand why, she laid me 2 eggs after the moult then nothing :? ) she's pretty well fine, apart from the fact that her comb has fallen in half (if that makes sense!) half has flopped to the right & the other half to the left. Can anyone tell me if this is due to any health problem? or should I just ignore it ?

I've seen combs 'flop' before as birds age. I -guess- it's ok but maybe someone else has seen this too.

The main thing is that it is red - which shows circulation is good and (if really bright red) in lay.

Thanks Tim,

She's about 18mths old, & the comb is bright red but she's not laying which made me wonder if the two things were adding up to something being wrong.

My guess is she will lay very soon if it is really bright red. It's the right time of year now...

Give it a couple of weeks and see how she fairs...
