I have a hen, who is just not herself. Not moving around the enclosure normally, seems confused. She is drinking, not sure about the eating. Her eyes are bright and has no discharge from beak, but she does have a mucky skirt. Shes not laying either. I have wormed them recently, but should I do it again? She is 2 1/2 years old and gentle of nature. It's a shame to see her so unhappy.
Any help appreciated.

Hello Jeno and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your poor hen. Two things spring to mind. Firstly a worm burden, unless you wormed with Flubenvet? Secondly sour crop. Her crop will be rather mushy and rather warm to the touch -noticeable more than her body. If the latter is the case she needs to go onto a water only diet for 24- 48 hours immediately. It will help if you massage her crop every few hours to mix the sour stuff up and move it through her system. Her poos will be rather slimy water with solids in. When her crop feels cooler and the poos are just runny water and solids she can go back with the others. By that time she will be rather active and hungry but hold back from letting her onto solids too soon, as to do that will only reactivate the sour crop.

thanks I'll go and check her out now. Just check her and not sour crop, so will go with worming with flubavent as see if that picks up up. :)
