Hi, :-)99
I have 2 chickens, one of which has been broody so i bought some hatching eggs for her to sit on. This was totally unsuccessful and none of them hatched. So I bought 4 more eggs on friday that were due to hatch over the weekend. 2 hatched, one of the chicks died and the other is doing well, exploring the run with Mum today.
My question is do I let the other hen in the run with Mum and chick or keep them apart for a while? The chick is 5 days old. I would be gutted if anything happened to my only chick.
Thanks
Hayley

i would keep them apart. if the other hen is not broody she could kill it. if she is broody they could squabble over the chick. i would wait for the chick to get bigger before putting them back together.
