i am looking at getting a new house for the quails even though i have built one

at present my 4 beanies are in the hutch but i would like them to be on bare soil even though having them direct on the ground might prove a bit annoying at times i was thinking of getting one of these runs but would a solid roof over the top be enough if i was to make a frame thats about 1 ft wider then the run so no rain gets in most of it except the front would be wind protected anyway .
