I've been watching this forum for some time & have found it full of helpful hints & tips. Today I bought my first hens (three girls all silkies: blue, gold & red) so thought I'd introduce myself! :D

Grandparents, parents, in-laws all kept/bred poultry & it's something I've wanted to do for ages. I'm sure I'll be in touch asking for help & advice so many thanks in advance.

hello and welcome Mrs P!
(my late mother in law refered to me as "mrs P Junior... she would answer the salesman question "whats your first name?" with "Mrs!" )

Silkies are so lovely arent they...

Thank you for the welcome Blue :-)08 Your post did make me giggle! I am actually Mrs P junior, mother in law is senior & we even have a Grannie P!

All well with the girls this morning, they were a bit reluctant to leave their coop so did need some assistance but seem to be happy enough in their new home. Just hope they eat something, they haven't yet!

Thanks Foxy :D I'm happy to report the girls are now eating & drinking. They seem to like their new pen & coop, scratching around lots even though it's now drizzling.

May well have to help them to bed tonight though, not entirely convinced they have figured out the ramp yet

Hello Mrs. P.

A very warm welcome :D Thank you for saying hello.

I look forward to meeting you in the forums.

Tim

Hi ncotb

Here is a photo of my girls, they are only 14 weeks old & you are quite right, I think I am already addicted
