Hi all,
I've have a bit of a run of bad luck.
I got a new mallard call drake to go with my mallard duck, she was previously with a cross silver drake but I sold him so I could have pure mallards. He flew away 2 days after I got him, I vever had to clip wings before but a lesson learned. I got another and clipped his wings and things seemed fine. I've been on holiday, a friend was staying to look after the birds, and I got back to find the new drake acting oddly and not walking right. I caught him at bed time and he was very thin. The others obviously weren't letting him eat. I went to make up a gruel of ground up pellets to syringe down him but ge died while I was making it up! Devastated.
I now have another. This one is 2 years old and I got him as the gentleman needed to add new blood.
What's the best way to introduce him? My other drake seems to want both girls! I have put him in a breeding pen with the mallard duck but the girls are not liking being apart and the noise is incredible!
Please advise how is best to introduce a single drake to two ducks and another drake.
Cheers.
