Hi all
I hopefully have some eggs about to hatch under a broody welsummer do I need heat lamps ect or let mum do all the work they will be in there own coop away from the rest of the girls.

Leave mum to it. You only need a heat lamp if she rejects them and you need to take over. Get some chick crumb for them to eat.

The broody hen will provide far more care and comfort than they will get from an electric heat lamp, if she gets peace and quiet to raise them,so she should be fine if she's away from the rest of the flock! They will need crumb to eat and the hen can eat these too.

Thanks for that went to lift her off the eggs today so she could have a drink and noticed one of the eggs hatching so put her back straight away and left her. Just been to check her this evening she is still sat but I can hear faint cheeping.
