nest box size

hi, what sort of size is best for big hens (jersey giants) and how high of the floor should they be? can do any size or shape and any height, someone suggested 15"w x 15"d x 18" high but this sounds a little small

Sounds bit small to me as well Oldstaff. If it's too cramped they mangle up their tail feathers. I enlarged ours for the Orpingtons to 17" wide x 18" deep x 20-16" high (external box with sloping roof). I think you may want to go a bit wider and higher than ours because the bedding takes up some headroom and ours stand for a few seconds to actually lay the egg.
