Two of my blue orp bantam pullets have been entered and my buff orp cockerel is making his first appearance this year. Luckily a friend is taking them for me.
Anyone on the poultry forum going?

I'm going, haven't entered any poultry, but I'll be in the old broiler class  .

I'm going - not to enter anything - but I want some more chucks next spring and have a shortlist of breeds - must be a friendly and hopefully handleable breed. So excited - been looking at silkies in ernest but a bit nervous to say the least because of their susceptability to mareks. Keep changing my mind as to wether to go for vaccinated or not or wether I should leave well alone incase I put my originals at risk. :? Advice please?

In any case - I am so looking forward to going. Really into this poultry thing now - strange really - had them for 14 years but have become addicted to it - the forums fault

Hi Simon,

Not going to the National but will be at the Fed. See you there :D

Please pop by and say hello if you can..

Ozric - Details here: National Poultry Show

Tim.

Thanks mate

Alas it's just before pay day and I need to get the brakes done on my land rover and get my car taxed and mot'd. I won't be going far until Christmas by the looks of things!

Osric :(

that is a shame Osric, still, there is the other big show, the Federation, that will be after you've been paid and you could make it your Xmas pressie to yourself.
big tip for everyone now,buy/get yourself what you want for Xmas-only way to guarantee you get what you actually want  .

Hmm I've got my presents already! Ducks from Germany and Windows 7 for my PC for Christmas day....

I dare say I might be dressing up as Santa again for the children and drinking a little sherry... ;)

Welsh National Weekend is 12 and 11th January 2009 - http://dyfedpoultrysociety.org.uk/history.html

Do many people on here show their birds? I'm thinking about putting a couple of birds in the show above as its only about 10 miles from me- just to see what goes on really! - Is showing for the first time really scary? And most importantly, will the old hands think I'm nuts to even try
