Advise please :)
Would really like to go to the national show in daventry on 15/16th nov, but never been before. My main interest lies in pekins (obviously), but also picked up interest in faverolles via foxys lovely birds. no idea what's there or what else to expect.
I'll be going on my own, so if anyone has any advise, best day to go for bantams, or info that may be of help, please post.
Is there loads of shopping oppertunities, does one day give longer and better viewing times (I'm coming from devon), are there side forums/talks I need to register for? Anything welcome
Cheers.

Saturday is the longer day but if you're interested in the winners, Sunday has Champions row. Boxing of birds is fairly early (perhaps 3pm?) so get there early if you go on Sunday. This year, they are doing the presentations on Saturday night at the dinner.

There are some trade stands - not huge amounts but if you need equipment, feed or chicken gifts you can usually get these.

I'll be there taking photos with Rupert assuming we can get our public liability insurance sorted out (honestly! like we're a danger with our cameras)
Saturday morning is usually very relaxed - we walk around talking to people and have a few meetings set up. As a few birds get their awards, we take some photos for owners and clubs. Sunday is when we have to capture a lot of Champions Row for Fancy Fowl and it's usually a really busy few hours.

There should be a good number of Pekins to see and people to talk to. Hang around the cages long enough and you soon bump into others with similar interests!

Well I went :D
OMG nearly kidnapped the whole lot. The blue Pekin cockerels won my heart, but so have the bantam faverolles and a couple of chocolate mottled pekins that where up for sale but REALLY sadly, didn't have the money to buy them. Never seen chocolate pekins before. Sooo sweet and the breeder was lovely too.
Made friends with a fabulous cockerel of unremembered breed, who investigated my iPhone with much interest and gave me some very funny close up shots of his curious face. Lovely lad, then discovered the Cochins who have the most amazing throaty crow. Lovely to hear. even met a couple of naked necks, so had a good chat with them in honour of chris :)
Going back next year armed with a car full of cat boxes and lots of cash. Or maybe just a phone battery that has loads of charge so I can take them all home on the camera lol

not the piccys most would take I agree, but only ones i have on work PC to upload......
