My two new Pekins arrived today. Daisy is a partridge pekin and Sorrell is a Birchen. Blossy has taken to them a bit like a duck to water. They have followed her around the garden all afternoon. I had kept them apart but by accident my husband moved the fence and the two youngsters got out and have been with blossy and all three chatting away. Time for bed blossy goes into the hen house followed by the youngers. A few little noises and now all quiet. I dont know what I expected but it seems to have gone well. What is the average life span for a pekin as my blossy is either seven or eight. I'm convinced I got her in February 2002 but my hubs says 2003.
My husband and I have done nothing today except watch them.

What a lovely happy ending,I'm so pleased for Blossy that she's got new friends, and relieved for you that it has gone so well. How sweet that she took them round the garden to show them all her favourite places.I'm afraid I've no idea how long a pekin lives for, some of the others are bound to though.I suspect Blossy is quite elderly now.

Sounds like they are all going to get along well :)

Pekins can live to 8, sometimes older. But thats about the life span iirc.

wow sounds like they are going to get along great. I had lots of kick boxing when I put my pekins together so well done Blossy for being so kind and friendly to the new comers :D
