My high flying Sablepoot

Yes, I have one of the above!! 15 weeks old, cute as a button, and very friendly - BUT in the garden the other day something startled her and she simply took off (like a bird). If she had not met with an obstruction, one tree, one high fence, I think she would still be going! She is normally a "light" little flyer, just messing at it really, but she showed serious potential for the hen height and speed record on this day. Anyone else have tales of seriously airborne hens to tell.
 
My only 'high flyers' are my Poots too! In the deep snow they would not come down the ladder from their Poothouse.They would stand at the top of the ladder and when I got to the feeding area they would fly across lawn and land on my shoulders! They have never flown over the electric fence which some do when I appear with afternoon corn!Ros
