Here is Fleur who, from today, is the proud mum of 10 hatching eggs. :-)08 I went to Philcotts this morning and collected 10 fertile eggs for my girl . I have Wellbar and Wybar . She is sitting tight so fingers crossed for a good hatch rate.
Thanks Philcott for showing me your stunning birds. They are a credit to you :D

Lovely photo, she looks really comfy with that "zen" like expression too! :D

She is so totally in the zone ! I can't wait to see what I get . Just been down to see her and she is clucking for England :) A very happy girl .
Thank you Kate .

Here are my new chicks. We got seven from ten eggs (one broke and two got kicked out)
What a proud Mummy :D
Looks like I might have five girls (photos sent to Philcott for confirmation)
How lucky am I ? :-)08 chickens 187.jpg

Wonderful news! They look like good strong chicks too! :-)08 :-)08

Bev - that pic looks as though there are two boys in there. Can't quite see - the two lighter coloured ones in the middle.

Hi Kate. I've e mailed you some better photos ! Could you have a quick look and let me know what you think . Thanks, Bev.

they are so cute :D :D mine are due to hatch this weekend but i am paranoid that they wont  talk about getting nervous , and i dont know wether to put a bit of straw in my houses or leave them with paper and fluffy shavings the ones i got are really nice and completley dust free what really is best . i took the risk of moving mum and eggs into that home made little coop as its pretty much ground level{ and fits nicley as a broody house for little bantams } where as the before she was in the coop with attached run that was high of the ground and i was reading different sites and then made myself sick with worry that they might full out and get killed so

Don't worry you have done the right thing moving them to ground level. I know its all very stressful but you'll be amazed how good nature is.As for bedding, I have had three successful hatchings all with straw but I'm sure your bedding is just perfect. Please let us know how you get on.
Fingers crossed :D

it is stressfull , they are due any day now and i am a nervous wreck  i was meant to be of al next week so i can keep an eye on them but now i have to work which is annoying but with each year i do this i learn more but i just wish the sun would come out for them :-)05 but no chance of that , the only thing that worries me with the straw is any red mites hiding in it as one of my houses did have them but the new spray soon sorted that out but that again is just me being paranoid .i have had a few people say not to brood but its very hard to say no and i have 2 other bantams which have gone broody but 6 eggs is enough to deal with maybe next year i might do 12 as in time i only want bantams anyway but i need to let all my big girls go first and that might be a few years away yet the rate they are all going at :-)07 ohhhhhh i cant wait :D :D
