Hi,

Is it too early to tell the sex? They are 3 weeks old tomorrow. We think we have 2 of each- the possible boys seem far more independant and boisterous but they are feathering up first?

They are a pure joy to watch and grow so so fast. Many thanks for any help.

Hi ,last picture is definetly a girl. The other I do not know as you showing only heads, but if you look at them all with long tails are girls and the other with less feathers generally are boys :D

Hi Elmwood. Beautiful chicks! I love the mottled colour. I have had blue and splash pekins, and mottled D'Anvers, but I have never actually seen motled pekins. I hope you send some pictures when they are grown up.

Thankyou everyone for such helpful advice and your replies. I thought I may be jumping the gun, and will take better pics in a couple of weeks, with the whole body in view. Would be nice to have say one girl. Sadly the boys will have to go- so if they are boys, I will trying to find them a good home on here.

They are such little characters and are growing so fast, we fill the food bowl several times a day. I do think their combs and feet are very yellow- must be the garvo alfachick, but they love it.

Many thanks, Sharron

A very pretty posse of pekins you have there! :-)17 Looks like a couple of boys in there, but still a bit early to tell, the garvo does give them pronounced yellow combs and legs!

me again,

have managed to get them to pose before bedtime....... feather, tails, legs combs the lot.....SM 2.jpgSP2.jpgT1.jpgZ1.jpg

Well here are our 4 pekin chicks at 5 wks old- looking very scruffy, but filling out nicely.
The big Q is boys or girls? We think Tia and Smudge are boys, Spartacus and Zorro are girls. Thankfully the names are temporary - Hope you can help.

Zorro I think is a girl.. the rest are boys..not 100% about sparticus, sometimes the youngest boy in a brood takes a bit longer for wattles and comb to develop.

Hi,

Many thanks, So Zorro could be Zena.... Spartacus was actually the first to hatch, and he/she was so feisty- now he/she is the most timid one. As for Tia and Smudge....am gutted. They are all such lovely little characters.

Will be keeping them all until they finds their voices...... :(
