Looby Loo (Bluebell) and Blossom (Amber Star)

Had these several weeks now. Certain Looby Loo is laying the blue green egg, as she was the one whose comb started to grow quickly and she went into the coop more frequently. Weeks later, another egg started to appear in the nest box and Blossom's comb is getting bigger. She's lowest in pecking order. Looby Loo is totally accepted. I wonder if it is because she is the same colour as Miss Muffet was?

Great to hear they are getting along. It could be the colour but mostly, I think, it is a mystery known only to chickens.

Lovely birds!, I like the dry earth pit you have made too.

It really is a dust bath to die for isn't it? I've just replenished ours with new soil as it was worn to a frazzle.

It is good. They look very happy to have it. Helps them get rid of nasties.
I like the one on the right. Not a colour you see very often. They call it ‘gold quail’, quite why I don’t know.
