Does anyone use the hen house fumers? If not, why not? The reason I ask is that they say it kills all insects, so if it's so good, it seems really simple to use, so why isn't everyone using them?

Just happened to see them in a shop today and it sounded like the answer to everyones mite/lice problems, but it obviously isn't otherwise everyone would be using them without any need for sprays and powders etc.

Would be interested to hear everyones comments.

Karminski's got a thread somewhere on this - not sure of the outcome though?

I thought about using one Sue but if its anything like a greenhouse fumer based on Sulphur it attacks the metal fixings. Now the coops are creosoted I don't need one.

It depends on how Air tight the coop is as the fumes have to stay around in the coop to do their work. I have a close boarded coop and I bought one that was cheap and far too small for the size of the coop. That was when I found out how much ventilation I have in the coop.
