Memo to self.
If not possible to carry egg box down to the run at the same time as 2 refilled drinkers for hens and quails, avoid putting collected eggs in the same coat pocket as car keys.
Or at least, when returning to kitchen, don't put coat down where the dog will sit on it.
(Well, it did need a wash anyway...... )

oh Marigold you are good for me - give me a good giggle just when I need it. Sorry about the scramble eggs, did the dog get to eat them?

Did he heck!
I realised just as we were about to take him out for a walk - had got him all togged up, put my hand into my pocket to check I had a poo bag and tissue.
Withdrew it quick, dripping and slimy....

Dog has just gone out for his afternoon pee. Nearly lost him in the snow, since he's only 10 inches high even when he's trying to look impressive. The long hair on his legs and feet gets huge snow balls embedded in it, he has to go in the sink to be thawed out every time he sets foot outside. But he does like it.
Hens are not grateful enough for the nice roof on their run. They are walking around grumbling about how dark it is today.

Done something similar Marigold. Put an egg in my top pocket then picked up a feisty sicky hen. Held her to my chest as I carried her to the house and then had to clean the mess off both of us.

Marigold, I sympathise with your egg in pocket problem! I come home from work at lunchtime, check on the hens and collect any eggs, putting them in my coat pocket to take back to the house and transfer to egg boxes. I made a visit to Pets at Home last week, got out of the car and walked into the shop at which point I put my car keys into my coat pocket. There a wet, sticky feeling greeted me! Looking down at my coat (a pale cream one), the outside of the pocket was an interesting yellow/orange wet colour, running down my trouser leg on the inside of the coat was a clear sticky substance. By this time I was in the middle of the shop. I pulled my hand out of my pocket and it was dripping with egg and shell!! Quickly putting my hand back in the wet soggy pocket before anyone noticed I held my handbag over the offending side and turned round and walked as calmly as possible out of the shop!! Next dilemma was how to drive the car home with keys covered in egg!

I had obviously put an egg in the pocket one lunchtime and having one of my senior moments (they happen often these days!) I forgot to take it out! Must have sat on the egg when I got in the car!

Marigold, I think this is the year of me doing daft things! I've flooded the downstairs of the house 3 times in the last month, each time doing exactly the same thing! I just completely forgot I left the water running! I definitely don't learn from my mistakes!!!!

Yes it did Marigold! I wash quite surprised, but luckily it was able to be washed in the machine.
