I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem but my Speckledy Penny lays the most disgusting eggs. They look amazing but once opended they are full of lumps! I looked this up and apparently they are meat spots. We just throw them straight in the bin now as its pretty stomach churning to see!
Does anyone else have this problem and, if so will they ever become normal?

They very common, supermarket eggs are screned for theese so rarely happend in those to find.If you have loads of them in 1 egg you may need to have closer look on her as it can be a sign of an infection.I usually eat them anyway, scramble egg.

Marigold I recomend to watch video 'How do they do it',about producing eggs.Everything is explained there,in short words is exacly as Davidd said, but on industrial scale.

Back to Bev's question about will the eggs ever be normal? What actually causes these meat spots and is it transient or permanent for the hen? Hope this is one problem we don't get. No complaints from customers yet. Only one was due to an egg not collected soon enough last year which must have frozen we think. Never repeated.
