That's incredible Rick. It also looks dangerously unstable and I wouldn't go inside. Can't see it standing for much longer.

That is both hilarious and amazing. When I first looked at it and saw the grey with a black cross on the back it reminded me of some kind of insane German V weapon from the last days of WW2, though that probably says more about me than it does the church. Sort of reminds me of Chevals Palace Ideal which he built by himself over a 33 year period with stones he picked up on his postal round, at least in terms of the single mindedness of it.

Amazing place Dinosaw. Perhaps one day we will visit, but it's about 8 hours drive from us.

I like that he started by putting stones in his pockets while walking his round and by the end was taking a wheelbarrow around with him as he worked, it wouldn't have been out of place in a Jeunet film. The French do seem to have more than their fair share of eccentrics like the man who had left £12m worth of classic cars rusting away in some rickety old barns for 50 years.

That car collection has been repeatedly featured on the motoring programme, broadcast here on Sundays. As far as I am aware it has all been sold now and some of the cars reached amazing prices, even as rusty as they were. The rickety old open-sided barns were in as poor condition as the cars were inside them.
