Hello greatrooster, are you new to the forum?, if so, welcome to it and what a beautiful home your girls have.
I live in a very pretty part of town, and keeping girls in your garden is quite legit!
At this moment I can hear my little rooster, a lemon cuckoo Pekin, having a shout to greet the morning, but generally he is very good and not too noisy. My little bantam flock are purely pets and separate from my layers.
I am building up a purebred flock for eggs. So far 1 purebred bantam light Sussex pullet, 2 Croad Langshans, beautiful huge birds, and good layers, 1 Rhode Island red, and I already have three white Leghorns, so I'm on my way. I do find problems (feather pecking) with hybrids, which I have never ever had with purebred hens.
A I said I think your hen house looks wonderful, lucky girls.
