lame chuck

Hi, I have a lame chuck....... the dog startled her and discovered that she could fly.....shock for both i think but the springer pounced on her 07 now the poor girl appears to have lost use of her toes and puts no weight on it at all. still scratches but no weight. whats the best thing to do????? 19

Hello,
Due to the run in with your dog it sounds like your chicken has damaged her leg quite badly. We would suggest that you take her to the vet to check for any broken bones. If this is not the case it is likely that your chicken will require some pain killers, cage rest and some TLC. Please do let us know how you get on and write back if you have any further questions.

Hi, HAPPY TO REPORT!!! McQueen, the lame chuck is well and has recovered from her "dog" experience. laying well and now walking well......now in need of company as we lost her buddy to egg bound incident 06 any offers of " free to good home" chucks acccepted.
