I know birds are messy creatures, but Good Lord! I've never seen anything make such a mess as these little ducks. I started out using news paper to line the bottom of their cage but that just turned into a sloppy, wet, poopy mess. Wood chip bedding gets flung every where and scratched out of the cage. Finally I've been using puppy training pads to line the bottom and lower walls of the cage with. As long as I change them out 2x a day they absorb the water, hold together, and don't let haphazardly squirted poos escape on to my floor. What do you guys use to contain the mess when you have to keep little ones inside?

i dont think there is a way i was cleaning out mine 2 x s a day till they went out side then once a day through the winter now its once a week just add more straw every couple of days

I've got their water container in a tray with a mesh floor and a water drain to a bucket. This keeps the rest of the floor drier than before but they still manage to spread water around.

ive kitted my dog crate out with correx which is like a corrugate plastic panelling, its a pain but it keeps ALOT of the mess in, and puppy pads are probably the best you can put down, if you dont mind paying for the extra. When mine get to the point of being that messy and stinky they get sent out the garage in my chicken ark which i bed down with newspapper and straw!

i know what you are going through, i have never seen so much poo, mine are now in the bath with rubber mats to stand on with a heat lamp sitting on a wire rack which lie's across the bath, it works i put them on the floor when i just run the water and wash the mats and i dry the bath and put in clean dry mats and put the washed ones out on the line to dry.
