“Job of a lifetime” - what would be yours?

We have a friend who works there and he has applied for the job.
My ideal job, flying a heritage plane.
OH is settling for sailing on a classic sailing ship, preferably a fully rigged one as opposed to a top sail one where the masts are hoisted from the deck.
she definitely inherited her ancestors salt water genes

My dream job is what I do- teaching glass fusing, stained glass & stained glass mosaic (glass appliqué). I'd love to have someone else to do the admin & cleaning though!

Agree about the time warp, HenGen, but mine would be back to about my mid-30s, when our children were still young enough to be fun, but were independent enough for me to get back to teaching. My dream then would be to be back in a good Primary school, with a Year 3 class of 20 children, not the 35+ children I used to have, with some classroom assistants (not yet invented in the 1970s and 1980s) plus parental involvement for frequent field trips, and above all, freedom from the present stultifying version of the National Curriculum, especially in language and literacy.

I sympathise, HenGen - I'd like to do more but I've left it too late.

Icemaiden, how fascinating! I know several ladies who make lampwork beads and some of them have also done (or do) stained glass and glass fusing. I make jewellery and should set up a website but the admin puts me off.

That's interesting what you say, Marigold, about language and literacy. I was a polytechnic/university lecturer in the 80s and 90s and found myself correcting the spelling and grammar in degree students' dissertations. Quite appalling, many of them couldn't construct a sentence, and when I tried to explain they had no idea what I was on about!
